Great Interactions features photography by Polly Braden, showcasing the everyday moments, achievements, and milestones in the lives of people with autism and learning disabilities. In addition to this, the book includes interviews with the people who have been photographed, an interview between Polly Braden and David Campany about her work, and an introduction by Sophie Howarth.
The book is available as a hardback edition, and features approximately 150 images, spread over 180 pages. It is the result of a two-year collaboration between Polly Braden and MacIntyre, in which Polly has spent a great deal of time with the people she photographs, in order to intimately appreciate the nuances of their individual lives. As Andrew Solomon has said of the project, “This is not a portrait of disability, but a series of portraits of people with disabilities. It is achieved with clarity, respect, and wit.”
